Thanks! The pattern comes from an article published some years ago in a Woodcarving Illustrated Magazine. The woodcarver, Frederick Wilbur, drew the plans as a set of bookends. You can find the article here. The “stencil” you see is simply a paper printout copied from the plan and glued to the blocks. It gets carved off in the next steps.
Lloyd Kahn? No, I have not had that pleasure. I’m guessing the “Bob Easton” he knows is my namesake in California, an architect.
