Woodworking is my after life, a new life that’s found after completing 40 years of wage earning in the IT industry.
That earlier life can be summarized as being a computer enginerd, which found me working on everything from ancient punched card equipment through the latest world of software. I spent the last segment of that life working to improve World Wide Web accessibility for people with various disabilities. It was my great pleasure to spend almost 2 decades at IBM’s prestigious Research Division in Yorktown NY.
Woodworking is a more pleasurable form of “being a homeowner and fixing things.” My woodworking interests are new and unsettled, ranging from small boat building to woodturning and woodcarving. A niche might arrive someday. Maybe not. Yet, the journey is delightful.
